In last few years we have seen, in India, Maternity photoshoot or professional couple portrait during pregnancy has became extremely popular. Couples and more precisely the pregnant mom-to-be has lot of expectations from the photographer, as many families nowadays opt for single child, and so this pregnancy is very much important for the family. A great photograph or some very good maternity portraits or maternity and baby shoot album is very much in demand, as those will be treasure for life.
So for making or creating great photos, the job is not so simple, there are many factors to be considered, like
Shoot Location- you should consider a location which is not too far from your home, as during pregnancy Doctors will also suggest you not to travel much, so better if the location is maximum 25km from your home.
2. Costumes-
Basically nowadays there are lot of companies/designers who make the maternity costumes like gowns or other customised costumes, they can give you on rent and also they sell those, so you can easily select those as per your budget. a small suggestion- please do not look at others' photos and design/rent/buy your costume for maternity shoot, as some costume may look good on somebody else, which may not suit you during photoshoot, so better to discuss the same with your photographer, stylist etc, as they will know better that which one will suit you best, as they are doing the same job regularly.
3. Props- Your photographer may include those in the packages or you may need to take those separately, check with them prior.
4. Photographer- Selection of the photographer is the first step for any photoshoot, so that you can discuss all other things with them, they generally have tie ups with various vendors like outdoor location, costume rental, etc, they know which makeup artist can do pretty god job.
5. Prints or soft copies- Your photographer will give you the best package during booking, if you try to edit the photos later with someone else, or make album later with some other company, it may not give you best result as only the photographer who shoots, knows it better that how to edit those photos and how to make the best album using those photos. A printed photo is always better than soft copies.

Fashion Stylist- A fashion Stylist is a person who is expert on planning, designing, and executing the shoot in a much better way, as he/she is a bridge between photographer-makeup artist and client, a lady stylist plays very important role for pregnancy shoots as she can take care many personal things of yours, like perfect lingeries, timely food, rest, internal pain, perfect fitting of costumes, matching flowers-props, shoes, belts, hats... any many more. so if you are looking for a glamour kinda maternity shoot- a fashion stylist is must to opt for.
